During the month of January 2017, I participated in an internship at the Boston Harbor Islands National and State park. I visited five of the 34 islands and made art that reflected the biodiversity and character that the Boston Harbor Islands embodies. Although January is one of the bleakest months in Boston, I found that the islands are still full of life, and I hoped to capture that in my pen and ink drawings and watercolor paintings.

The internship culminated in an Open Studio where people from the National Park Service and other organizations came to see the work I had done. The drawings and paintings will be used in educational material and for other purposes.
